If you have family, it can be hard on them as you aren't home often. If they come with you, it can be a lot better. Physically demanding with no job security. Have to be willing to relocate from one job to another. A lot of manual labor.
A lot of challenges. The work will force you to think creatively in unfamiliar situations. As a bonus you will occasionally get to blow things up. Interesting, work always changing. I love all the different challenges which enhance my knowledge, WSMR always keeps me busy. As a test range I get to be a part of tests that are conducted no where else which makes this place special. It has bee a great place to work but now I need a change.
